Official video via Stereogum. I’ll be honest, I love the song but this video has left me a little confused. One word pretty much sums up my feelings: clusterfuck.

I’m not necessarily a fan of completely literal videos, and the cutesy, sentimental hearts that littered the entire clip felt like they belong in a Stars video, not a Metric one. Nonetheless, one thing can be ascertained: Emily Haines can rock any dress.

My first reaction to this was, “What?! This can’t be the new Metric video.” I even headed over to Sterogum to make sure it was really, truly the official video. It took me a while to get past the confusion. However, after I got used to it, the video was pretty good. The retro/vintage/whatever feel was definitely interesting. To be honest, I didn’t notice the dresses Haines was wearing. I was distracted by the old chemistry textbook diagrams and outdated graphics.

I guess anything Emily Haines sings with Broken Social Scene reminds me of warmer weather and happier feelings.

So, today, I was blasting The Hush Sound over our common area at my college…give me control of the music, this is what you get.

This is one of my favorite Hush songs. I like how everything fits together. It’s intense in that it draws you in, but it isn’t too much.

It makes me absolutely sick that we're still fighting for LGBT rights after all of this time.
